Performance Task (Newsbroadcasting)

Hi Dearies

This is to inform you that there are some changes made to the performance task (news broadcasting).

The changes are as follows:
1) Group work (in gps of NOT more than 4);
2) Newspaper article length (between 350 and 500 words)
3) newsbroadcasting script (different fm your gp's newspaper article)
4) no need to write critique reviews.
5) feature soft news in the field of science and technology, environment, education, culture and family.

Your group will present in Term 3 Week 10.

Level Test on 20 August (Tuesday)

Hi Dearies

This is to inform you that your class will be sitting for your level test on 20 August (Tuesday). It is an essay writing test. There are TWO questions: 1) narrative; and 2) exposition (discursive). For the exposition, you use the 'PEEL' (Point-Elaboration-Example-Link) structure to base your argumentations on.

You choose ONLY ONE. You are advised to write between 350 and 500 words.

To score well for language, remember to include a wide range of interesting vocabulary and phrases, and produce a high variety of sentence varieties and complexities.

Homework (Present Perfect Issue 4 - new instruction)

Hi Dearies

You need to write your summary on a fresh piece of paper. In other words, you do all your reading compare questions on one paper, and summary on another.

Just a gentle reminder, the homework is due next Monday 22 July.

EL Paper 2 Homework

Hi Dearies

You are to complete the entire Paper 2 (Passages A, B and C) that can be found on the Present Perfect Issue 4 2013 on pages 41-47.

Submit your completed comprehension and summary sections to your EL rep next Monday 22 July 2013.

EL rep, please use your class list and mark against the names of those who have submitted to you next Monday, and use a rubber band to tie the scripts together.

This will be a good test of your diligence and promptness in your homework submission.

I know your class won't disappoint me!
